| A really challenging
course, with excellent greens and five long par 3's. |
|
The course starts with a 481 yard par 5, slightly downhill to a
wide fairway. There is rough and a water ditch across the fairway
about 80 yards out, so your second shot needs to be well placed.
There are three bunkers around the green which slopes back to front.
Hole two is a 178 par 3. The green is well protected around the
front by four large bunkers.
The third is an interesting 405 yard par 4. The hole doglegs 80°
left 265 yards from the tee, and there is a large tree centre fairway
on the bend, so you need to place your drive well to get a clean
shot in. The green is undulating with high ground and a small bunker
to the right and falls away to the left to two larger bunkers.
Hole four is a 506 yard par 5. There are trees tight both sides
off the tee. The fairway is downhill for about 260 yards then uphill
toward the green. There's a stream and rough ground jutting into
the fairway from the right 175 yards from the green but this needn't
come into play, but two pronouced ruts across the fairway in front
of the green mean you can't easily chip and run one in.
Hole seven is a 379 yard par 4, there's a huge dip in front of the
tee then a severe right dogleg at about 200 yards. There are some
large trees at the dogleg so don't cut too much off.
The eight is the longest hole, a 528 yard par 5, a slight right
dogleg to a rising fairway littered with bunkers. The fairway narrows
toward the green which is protected by some large bunkers.
Hole ten is a 429 yard par 4, uphill and a little right to left.
There is a bunker short right of the two tier green and five more
bunkers to the sides and back.
The eleventh is only 264 yards for a par of 4, but it is steeply
uphill. There is a pond and a large mound centre fairway less than
100 from the tee, and the fairway doesn't start for 150 yards. The
ground rises even more steeply approaching the green which has a
big bunker front right and five more left and back.
Thirteen is another 264 yard par 4. This time the main danger is
a massive bunker across the front of the green of the two tier green.
A good drive will end up in sand, so it's best to lay-up a bit.
Fourteen is also quite a short par 4 at 302 yards. Most of the trouble
is around the small green which is really well protected by large
sunken bunkers and extremely undulating ground.
Hole fifteen is the longest of the par 3's at 208 yards. Straight
and slightly downhill to a long two tier green which slopes heavily
off the left and back.
Seventeen is a 345 yard par 4, massively downhill. There's a bunker
both sides at driving distance, one more centre fairway about 40
yards from the small green and two more to the front.
The last hole is a 206 yard par 3. There are trees close right
and a large bunker centre fairway about 50 yards from the green,
quite an easy finish to a really challenging course. |
